The PreSonus Revelator io24 is a desktop audio interface well-suited for converting both digital and analog signals. It’s also one of very few audio interfaces designed specifically for both recording and livestreaming, which makes it easy to record or stream podcasts on the go.
Each audio interface has:
- Two inputs: Notice two XMAX-L mic preamps on the front of the interface. You can have up to two guests on XLR mics during each show.
- Phantom power: Each audio interface comes with 48 volts of phantom power. It’s easy to plug and play with quality XLR mics depending on your podcasting needs.
- Mute button: Exactly what it sounds like. Instantly mute all sound feeding your monitor speakers.
- LCD screen: Easily change your dB levels, turn on phantom power, or adjust your Hz. Just keep in mind this isn’t a touchscreen — you need to use your rotary encoder to make adjustments on-device.

How to use the PreSonus Revelator io24
You need to buy a microphone before switching on the PreSonus Revelator io24. Thankfully, the device’s XLR combo jack conveniently allows you to use both 1/4 inch jack and XLR microphones. You can even use condenser microphones thanks to the optional phantom power.
Once you’ve purchased an appropriate mic, you can get set up with the following steps:
- Connect the USB-C cable from the back of the interface to your computer.
- Plug your microphone into input one.
- Flip on phantom power using the rotary encoder (if necessary). You can do this by punching in and then turning the encoder.
- Pushing in the encoder selects a new adjustable feature on the LCD screen. Turning the encoder adjusts the level. Feel free to flip through a few settings (including headphone levels and monitor blends). Adjust these to your liking.
- Push button one on the Revelator. Turn the encoder to increase your mic’s gain.
- If desired, use one of the two preset buttons to instantly calibrate your audio. You can make custom presets and save them for later.
- Assign the Revelator as your input in whatever software you want to receive your microphone signal.
